Dublin held their own reasonably well in the first half despite conceded a goal to Lenny Holohan as early as the 3rd minute. Some excellent points from long range frees by Ciara Lucey plus great scores from play by Alison Maguire (2) and Sherry Mannion left the score 1 - 7 to 0 - 5 in Wexford's favour at the break.
With the aid of a slight breeze, Wexford showed their superior fitness and teamwork to knock over some great points despite the brilliance of Tara Corrigan and Elaine O'Meara in defence.
Dublin deserved a better return from a number of attempts on the Wexford goal and Miriam Twomey came closest to scoring a goal.
