Dublin opened well in this game and had an early period of dominance however a number of chances narrowly missed the target.
Meath in a raid in the 6th minute goaled through Lizzie Lynch and despite the best attempts of Bridget Sweetman the same player got through for the Royals second goal in the 25th minute.
Anne Kirwan, Niamh McKennedy and Jenny Russell battled well in the half-back line and Dublin created a number of chances. Emer Murphy and Kirsten Farrell were on target from pointed frees and in the 30th minute Jacqui Elebert goaled.
Although Meath were the better team with Jane Dolan grabbing 1 - 3, Dublin contested the game to the finish with Gráinne Quinn, Kirsten Farrell, Shauna Duff, Gráinne Ryan, Miriam Twomey and Bebhin O'Neill always active.
