Dublin v Kilkenny

Dublin 7-9  Kilkenny 0-3

The early signs were promising as Dublin opened a 1-2 to nil lead playing into the breeze.  Gemma Berry (1-1) and Michelle Hetherton getting the scores.  It would turn out to be a profitable day for the pair with Michelle notching 3-3 and Gemma 3-2, a total of 6-5 of Dublin's total of 7-9.  But the fine performances didnt stop there.  Aoife Burke and Ella Carr in attack showed tremendous running and hit the target with 1-0 and 0-2 respectively.

Dublin have another excellent 'keeper in Jenny Ryan and wing back Niamh McCarney played a captain's part.

Dublin led by 2-3 to 0-1 at the break.  Kilkenny tried their best to get back into the game and had points from Rebecca Holden and Eilish Regan but when they moved their fine goalkeeper Niamh Butler outfield the floodgates opened and Dublin hit the net four times in the closing quarter.

Rebecca Kamvar and Catherine Costello dominated at midfield and Laura Gibney, Niamh McCarthy and Jane Edwards were soundness personified in the full-back line.  In front of them Laura Gregg, Kate Nyhan and Eimear Murray were not seriously troubled.  Aoife Wade and Sophia Martin (who kicked a fine point) also contributed handsomely as did substitutes Caoimhe Ní Mhaolagáin, Rebecca Barrett and Eimear O'Riordan.

Dublin Scorers:  Michelle Hetherton (3-3), Gemma Berry (3-2), Aoife Burke (1-0), Ella Carr (0-2), Sophia Martin (0-1)
