At Na Fianna's Mobhi Road grounds we witnessed a very competitive game in the first of this morning's We are Dublin Senior 1 Championship semi-final. Playing against the breeze in the first half Na Fianna were a little unlucky to trail Lucan Sarsfields by 7 points 0-1 to 1-5 at half time. But a suberb effort in the second half earned Na Fianna a replay which seemed unlikely at half time. Final score: 1-7 each. Lucan will enjoy home advantage for the replay which take places next Sunday.
At Naomh UInsionn's grounds we had the second of the Senior 1 semi-finals. Despite playing with the aid of the breeze in the first half Naomh Mearnog found themselves 4 points adrift at half time 2-3 to 0-5. Naomh Mearnog will rue the many missed chances and wides in this half. In fairness to both teams the wind made the task of scoring points very difficult. Vincents made better use of their limited attacking chances in the first half and went on to seal victory with a dominant second half display. Final score St. Vincents 3-9 Naomh Mearnog 0-7.
