(29 Jul 2014)

Best of luck to Premier Junior goalkeeper Stephanie Carthy (left with Dublin Chair Pat Martin) in Saturday's M. Donnelly GAA All Ireland Poc Fada Finals.   The Naomh Mearnóg girl will face stiff opposition from the likes of Patricia Jackman of Waterford who will be attempting to make history by winning her sixth M Donnelly Camogie Poc Fada title in a row.  Others in the running include Catriona Daly (Galway), Martine McMahon (Limerick), Louise Dougan (Derry), Aoibheann Murphy (Armagh) and Niamh Mackin (Louth).

The eagerly-awaited finals will take place on Saturday the 2nd of August 2014 on Annaverna Mountain, Ravensdale, Cooley, Co. Louth at 11am.

Speaking at the launch Uachtarán An Cumann Camogaíochta, Aileen Lawlor said “Camogie are delighted once again to take part in the annual Poc Fada Finals, this will be our 11th year taking part and over the last number of years competition has been quite stiff with only a poc of the sliotar between the contestants,”.

Stephanie played for the Leinster Interprovincial team 2007-2008. She was an All Ireland runner up at Junior A level in 2012; the same season that she won a National League medal . She was a Poc Fada winner that year in Dublin too.
