Whitehall Camogie Star heading for South Africa

(17 Jan 2012)

Nuala 1Whitehall Colmcille camogie player and former Dublin Junior and Minor, Nuala O'Donovan (left and third from right, front row below) is travelling to South Africa as part of the Niall Mellon Township Project.  The UL Student is seeking your support.

Nuala writes

"In November, I will travel to Cape Town South Africa, along with The Niall Mellon Township Trust and other Irish volunteers to help build houses and improve the quality of life for some of the most disadvantaged people in South Africa. By housing these people, they will be protected from the elements of living in a shack, they will also have clean water. This will lead to a healthier life for these people.

There will be electricity in each house, which will allow children light to study. Each house will have a lockable front and back door which will be much safer that the shack they currently live in.Nuala 2

Each house built is a registered house address, which allows them to be easily located in the case of an emergency. I am raising €5000 for the charity and would be very grateful for any support and sponsorship that anyone can offer.

I can be contacted at this email address - nualagoesbuilding@gmail.com.

Many thanks,

Nuala O'Donovan
