Under 13 Squad Update

(27 Apr 2010)

At last details for the blitz have been finalised and we welcome the arrival of teams from Meath, Westmeath, Cork and Kildare on Monday 3rd in Naomh Bríd.

All of the Dublin squad are to be present at St Brigids at 10am sharp on Monday. Girls to wear club skorts & socks – Dublin camogie jerseys will be given out that morning and returned after blitz.

The finals will be held on the all-weather pitch where all present can view the match in comfort from the terrace. We would ask that all girls remain until the end of the blitz to support the 2 teams in the final.

FOOD/DRINKS

We are asking every girl on the Dublin squad to make a tray of sandwiches – just one loaf of bread each, with any type of filling and bring it on the morning on a disposable tray or plate and leave it in the hall. If we all do one loaf of bread each, then we can cut costs dramatically and give the girls an enjoyable day. There will then be coffee/tea & sandwiches available for players, parents & mentors throughout the day.

We would kindly ask if some parents would make themselves available to mind the burco boilers and give out the teas/coffees throughout the lunchtime period. It is only a safety measure, there will be no charge for tea/coffee but somebody needs to oversee it. Please offer !!!

PARKING

As you are all aware, there is limited parking in St Brigids – as we have to facilitate those travelling from the visiting counties, we would encourage you to car pool amongst your club  as much as possible.

WHAT TO BRING

Should the weather be in our favour, can you please ensure that the girls apply plenty of sun cream and also bring it with them on the day. They are to bring a plentiful supply of water to avoid dehydration. All girls will get plenty of pitch time and will need to re-hydrate regularly.

If we have normal weather i.e. RAIN – please ensure that they all have rain gear and changes of clothes.

They must bring 2 hurls (taped), boots, skort, socks, shin guards and a helmet.

Finally, please appreciate that this is both the mentors and players first Blitz playing for Dublin. We expect the girls to have respect and be courteous to all mentors, referees, officials and most importantly the visiting teams. This is a squad to develop camogie and comradeship in Dublin and Ireland as a whole.

We are asking all parents and mentors to encourage and support the girls and to ensure that they enjoy “THEIR DAY”.

Looking forward to seeing you all next Monday.
