Waking up at 6am is never easy for the girls, but the sunshine in Kilkenny surely woke them up. Six teams took part in this blitz. The Jackie’s entering 3 teams, Tipp with 2 teams and Galway with one team.
Team 1’s first opponent was Galway who have shown in the past what a strong team they are but the Jackie’s were going out all guns blazing. In the opening few minutes Katie Nyhan put the first score on the board with a goal from a pass off Shaunagh Harte. Also in the first half, there were points from Amy Conroy, Aoife Molloy and Faye McCarthy. At half time the score was 3-3:0-0, The Jackie’s were on their way to a win. Also in the second half, goals from Amy Gorman, Marion O’Donnell, Shaunagh Harte, Zoey Dalton and Aoife Molloy secured a victory for the Dubs! In the end Dublin won 9-7:0-0.
After that victory they went on to play Tipperary team’s 1 and 2. Against Tipperary’s team 1 the girls knew it wasn’t going to be easy as they scored a goal in the opening few minutes. Unfortunately the final score was 4-5:0-0.
