Rules for Adult Championships 2015

(08 Sep 2015)

Championship rules....

1    Sen 1,2,3,4 & 5 will be 15 a side competition with Sen 6 & 7 being 13 a side.  Sen 6 & 7 championship games may be played as a 15 a side provided that this is agreed by both clubs at least 48 hrs in advance of the scheduled fixture.

2    Any team giving a W/O in the championship will NOT be permitted to enter a Shield competition.

3    In order to avoid unnecessary play off's the following procedures will apply when 2 or more teams finish level at the end of the group stages.....

(A)    When 2 teams finish level on points...."head to head" will decide which team finishes above the other.  Should the "head to head" have finished in a draw then the overall scoring difference in the group games  will determine the outcome. (Scores for minus Scores against)
(B)    Should 3 or more teams finish level on points then overall scoring difference will apply.  (See note A above).

4    Where a team gives a W/O in the championship they are excluded from a Shield competition.  In addition to this they will then become the relegated team.  Should more than one team give a W/O then a play off will decide the relegated team.

5    Should a championship  semi final finish level, then a replay will be scheduled. (Venue reversed).  Depending on time, it may be necessary to replay this game under lights, midweek.  And should the "Home" not have facilities then a neutral venue will be sourced.   Extra time will apply in all Shield Semi finals and finals.(10 mins each way)

6    All championship finals will be scheduled for a neutral venue.  All Shield games will be "Home or Away" with a toss determining the venue for a Shield final.

7    A player who plays at a higher grade than her registered grade in a championship  will then not be eligible to play in a lower grade.  And will have to be regraded in 2016 if she wishes to revert to her 2015 grading.

8    Senior 1-5 is 15 a side, but clubs may play a competitive fixture provided they have a minimum of 12 players.  Senior 6 & 7 may play a competitive fixture provided that they have a minimum of 10 players.  Should a team (Sen 6 / 7 )  have less than 13 players on the day/night then this fixture will become 13 a side fixture even if both clubs had agreed to play 15 a side prior to the scheduled date.  Clubs are fully entitled to play the maximum numbers of players even if the opposition only have the   minimum.

9    It is the responsibility of the HOME club to contact the appointed referee at least 48 hrs in advance of the fixture to check his/her availability.  The HOME club should either get  actual confirmation that     the referee is available as opposed to "just sending a text"

  • Mentors should check website at least 48 hrs in advance of their fixture     and contact the Referee by text/phone.  Do NOT assume  that the     referee is available until they confirm their availability.  Also note that     most of our referees also ref other codes so whichever club contacts the     referee first will be the match he/she officiates.
  • If the appointed referee is unavailable, contact Garry Beagan Ref Co-    ordinator on 085 - 1743 646 for a replacement referee.  We will require     at least 24 hrs to appoint a replacement referee.
  • If the fixture is cancelled for whatever reason then the referee must be     notified of same.

10    Bibs must be worn by all team managers.  Failure to do so could result in a team being fined by the THDC.

11    Clubs are responsible for the behaviour of all their supporters and referees have been instructed to report all forms of abuse either from players/team management/supporters and such breaches will be sent to     the THDC where sanctions will apply.

12    Helmets/Skorts are compulsory and a referee will not allow a player on the pitch without both.  Teams are also reminded that jewellery is NOT permitted  and should be removed prior to the start of a game.

13    Team sheets must be given to the referee not later than the start of the 2nd half

14    Championship games may be played on an All Weather, but the home club should notify the opposition at least 48 hrs in advance of the fixture.

15    Should a Home club (for whatever reason) NOT receive a results text shortly after their game has concluded then the result should be sent to Brendan Cooper on 086 318 0092 so that web page can be updated immediately.

16    Fixtures will not be postponed except under exceptional circumstances.

17    The Fixtures Committee reserve the right to change a fixture (for good cause) and give both clubs 5 days written notice after which time it becomes an official fixture.
