Premier Link to 1984 Win

(08 Sep 2017)

Premier Junior team selector Ann Colgan and Róisín Drohan's mam Carmel O'Byrne haven't had a moment this past week with all the well-wishers texting and calling.

Liscarroll-native Ann was the captain of the last Dublin senior team to win the All-Ireland back in 1984 while Carmel was also a team member.

Ann 5th from left in front row hopes to make Sunday next a very special day when she assists Dublin in their bid for the Kay Mills Trophy as they take on Westmeath in the Liberty Insurance Premier Junior All-Ireland Final at 12-00.

A member of the Naomh Peregrine club, she has given many years of service to Dublin teams and it would be a very just reward if she as a mentor on Sunday as part of a great Dublin victory.

Carmel is the 7th player from the left in the back row will also be there cheering the team on.  Another link with current Dublin camogie activity is Edel Murphy (front row, on extreme right) sister of Dublin U15 mentor John Murphy, Cuala mentor Donal and former senior boss Denis of Skerries Harps.
