On behalf of both Dublin Camogie and Dublin Ladies Football I would like to put on record our sincere thanks to a number of people for ensuring the success of our annual Dub Stars games. As with any event of this size we depend so much on the good will and support of so many people.
Once again our host club Kilmacud Crokes was outstanding for the manner in which they organised this event from start to finish. Special & sincere thanks go to John Sheridan, Anne Noctor and Brenda Keogh who headed up various groups, such as initial set up of pitches, mini league games, raffle, catering and so on. The contribution of so many people was crucial in ensuring the success of this venture. Both Boards wish to acknowledge and congratulate the members of Kilmacud Crokes.
To the mentors and players from the four competing teams we wish to express our thanks for the commitment shown to this event both on, and off the field of play. Sincere thanks to Camillus and Richie and their selectors for managing the Dub Stars teams. To Denis Murphy and Tommy Brown and their backroom staff for managing the Dublin teams we would wish them every success in 2011 with their respective County teams.
We couldn’t undertake such a commitment without the continued support of our main sponsor OZO and we would sincerely thank both Jonathan Archer (Managing Director) and Paul Beecher (Sales Manager) for their continued support especially in these difficult economic times.
To our match officials we would offer our sincere thanks for a job very well done. I would also like to pay tribute to the members of the camogie board for helping put this event to-gether. Gerry O’Sullivan did a fantastic job in producing our match programme, beside a host of other things. To Mona O’Sullivan for looking after our Dub Stars team and also her involvement on match day. To Seamus Massey for taking the photos and to Marie O’Brien for her involvement on the day. Marie was busy all day promoting the raffle and actually sold the winning ticket. Speaking of the raffle, a sincere thank you to all who supported this venture and special thanks must go to Pat Martin for the fabulous prizes donated by his company.
To the general public who turned out in good numbers to support this important event we would express out thanks. Many thanks are also due to the caterers who looked after us very well at the presentation meal.
To the Evening Herald and in particular Niall Scully and Rónán McLoughlin, Rory Kerr of the Fingal Independent and to our MC on the day Declan Drake a huge thank you for your support.
To the mentors and U10 girls of Kilmacud Crokes, Ballinteer St Johns, Cuala and Naomh Olaf for the half-time games a sincere thank you for your support.
We would also like to thank our other sponsors on the day. MMI Group sponsored the medals with Westside Press sponsoring an excellent match day programme. Also our thanks to the Design Edge in Swords Pavilion for donating vouchers for the raffle.
Last but not least both Boards wish to express their sincere thanks to the Presidents of both associations, Pat Quill (Ladies Football) and Joan O’Flynn (Camogie) for their continued support and presence on Saturday.
