Naomh Uinsionn got off to the better start in this sporting Senior 5 championship final. Alison Walsh sent over a point on 2 minutes. Cumann Baire Caoimhin settled into the game and Claire Graham replied with a pointed free on 5 minutes. For the next 15 minutes neither side registered a score but the ball went up and down the pitch, with great effort and enthusiasm, some good defending and some poor wides from both sides. Claire Grahan sent over her second point of the half on 20 minutes. Five minutes later Ami Burke in the CBC goals made a great save only to see Naoise Perry pounce on the rebound and put the ball in the back of the net to leave Vincents 1-01 to 0-02 at the end of a very low scoring first half.

One worried for Cumann Baire Caoimhin after the break as the wind seem to pick up in strength. And our fears were realised! Vincents Alison Walshe and Niamh Lawlor had quick points on the board. CBC replied with Claire Graham’s third point of the game. Unfortunately for CBC this proved to be their only score of the half as wave after wave of Vincents attacks added 2-04 to the scoreboard to leave them comfortable winners when referee Derek Brannigan (Good counsel) called full time. Final score Naomh Uinsionn 3-7 Cumann Baire Caoimhin 0-03.

Scorers:

Naomh Uinsionn: Alison Walsh 1-04; Naoise Berry and Leanne Regan 1-00 each; Niamh Lawlor, Jessica Cummins and Emma Byrne 0-01 each.

Cumann Baire Caoimhín:  Claire Graham: 0-03.

Player of the Final: Alison Walsh Naomh Uinsionn.

Cumann Baire Caoimhín brought 2 colourful attractive Banners to the game.
