Strong finish sees Na Fianna claim the Minor B title.

This was a fine competitive game of Camogie played at pace on a cold, dry day at Parnells GAA club. Na Fianna started this low scoring first half the better and after 3 minutes had a point on the board from the game’s most influential player, Niamh Rock. But strange to relate it would be another 20 minutes before they would score again. Ballinteer then took over during this time and had points from Grace O’Shea (2) and Eleanir Aherne. But they should have had 4 or 5 more points but were guilty of too many wides. Na Fianna’s Aoife Nic an Iomaire scored a goal 2 minutes from the half time whistle and Niamh Rock ended the half with a point. Na Fianna 1-02 Ballinteer St. Johns 0-03. Would Ballinteer rue the many missed chances?

Na Fianna started the second half the better with points from Niamh Rock, Laura Mulvey and Roisin O’Donoghue to Ballinteer’s one point from Eleanor Aherne. Ballinteer’s efforts were rewarded mid way through the half when Grace O’Shea had the ball in the net to leave them only one point behind. But this was as good as it got for the Ballinteer girls as Na Fianna finished strongly scoring 4 unanswered points to leave the final score Na Fianna 1-010 Ballinteer St. Johns 1-05

Great credit to both teams on a very enjoyable and competitive game of Camogie.

We look forward to seeing many of today’s players line out for the Dublin Minor A team in 2015.

Player of the Final: Niamh Rock (Na Fianna)
