REPORT:

Leinster Minor A Shield Final

St Rynaghs GAA, Banagher 29.07.18

Offaly and Dublin faced off in the A Shield Final, both really hoping to finish the year with a win and a trophy to show for their efforts.
The first 15 minutes was an even affair with both sides competing well and putting on a show of some skill and endeavor.
As the half progressed Dublin started to take the initiative and take their scores easier than Offaly, mostly as a result of terrific defending and fast ball to the wings which set up the scoring chances. Half time score: Dublin 0-9 Offaly 1-2

Very soon after the start of the second half Dublin found the net and grew in confidence. From that point on Offaly struggled to get into the game which allowed Dublin the freedom to score freely, eventually finishing with a second half tally alone of five goals and nine points.
A satisfying win to finish the year as girls can again switch their to focus on County Senior and Premier Junior fixtures and club Championships.

Dublin: Ally Ramsden, Siun Keating, Hannah Leddy, Siofra Byrne, Derbhla Nolan, Orla Gray, Celine Atancio, Niamh Gannon, Aoife Mahon, Megan Caroll, Sinead Wylde (Joint Capt.), Laura Quinn, Anna Geraghty, Chloe Mullen (Joint Capt.) & Jessica McClelland
Maeve Bogan for Ally Ramsden, Alix Buckley for Jessica McClelland

Final Score Dublin 5-18 Offaly 2-3
