Faughs Celtic ended Portobello's chances of promotion with a fine 2-12 to 1-6 victory in Tymon Park on Wednesday night (26 August). The result means they lead Kilmacud Crokes who have a game in hand by 3 points. Victory next week for Faughs Celtic in their final game over Na Fianna will secure the title but if they should lose and Crokes win their two final games then a play-off will be needed.
The leagues are turning into the most competitive in years with a play off already needed in Senior 1.
