Leinster Intermediate Camogie Championship Semi Final

Dublin v Carlow

Sunday 13th Of May

Venue: Parnell’s GAA Club, Coolock

Throw-In: 2:30pm

The Dublin Premier Junior Camogie team welcomed Carlow to Parnell’s GAA for their Leinster Intermediate Championship Semi Final.

Dublin’s last game was the league Semi Final v Westmeath and if they were to beat Carlow they play again Westmeath in the Leinster Final.

Dublin started well leading by four after midway through the first half. Then Carlow came back with dubious goal mouth scramble, after which consulting with the umpires, the ref gave Carlow a goal and they followed this up with a point straight away. Dublin found form again but went into half time two points down.

The half time talk from Manager Shane Plowman must have being productive as the girls got back to a draw early on and never looked like losing after levelling the game. Aibhne Dillon was on fire with the frees and from play. Substitutes Aoife Molloy, Evelyn Twomey, Laura Walsh all contributed well and upped the ante when the game was in the melting pot.

Other players performed well for Dublin were Rachael Noctor, Dee Johnstown, Emma Barron and midfield duo of Hannah O’Dea and Louise O’Shea leaving Dublin winning by three on a margin of 13 points to Carlow’s 1-7. Dublin now progress to the Leinster Final against old foes Westmeath on 26th May. A repeat of the Division 2 league Semi Final and last year’s Premier All Ireland final with Westmeath coming out the right side on two occasions. Thirds time lucky they say – let’s hope so for the girls in Blue.
