Dublin's U14 Camogie girls took on Wexford in the last of the round Robin series on Sunday in Peregrines GAA grounds. Many thanks to the club for the use of this superb facility and I am sure the many supporters were glad to sit in the shade of the stand for the match. With Dublin already qualified for the Leinster final, the girls were relaxed and there were some fine passages of play throughout. The Dublin forwards were in command in the first half with a constant supply of ball from midfield pairing of Anna Walsh and Aoife Mc Kenna. Within 10 minutes of the start all three Dublin forwards Ailish O Neill, Laura Morrissey and Tess Coyne had scored. Some fine points from Lilly Condon and Anne Marie Courtney on the half forward line kept the scoreboard ticking over. The Dublin Half back line of Mary Cronin, Laura Walsh and Sarah Nagle kept the Wexford forwards under control and kept them scoreless for the hour. Goal of the match came from Ailish O Neill in the 1st half with 3 interchanges of passes before Ailish fired it to the net giving the goalkeeper no chance. Half time Dublin 4-7 Wexford 0-1
Dublin continued to press in the second half with Orla Beagan, Eve Keogh, Amber O Connor and Niamh Mc Kenna all playing well. Aoife Clancy was always a threat up front, and scored a fine point after 10 mins. It was Ailish O Neill's day as she added 1-1 to her earlier goals in first half. Whilst the defence was quiet today, unlike last week against Kilkenny, Niamh Byrne, Chloe Rochford, Heather Deighan Gough, Aoife Flynn and Leanne Regan all played well when Wexford posed any threat. Wexford did score a late consolation goal which was well earned as they tried hard for the full hour. Full Time Dublin 5-9 Wexford 1-1
Scorers: Ailish O'Neill 3-1, Laura Morrissey 2-1, Anne Marie Courtney 0-3, Tess Coyne 0-2, Aoife Clancy 0-1, Lilly Condon 0-1,
