Congratulations to Trinity Gaels Geraldine Prendergast who was named Dublin Camogie Volunteer of the Year. Geraldine was chosen from excellent nominations received from clubs throughout the county.
Geraldine will now be Dublin Camogie's nominee for the National Camogie Volunteer of the Year.
Geraldine moved from Clare to Dublin in 1968. During her early years in Dublin she played for both Eoghan Ruadh and Phoenix and served on several committees in these clubs. When she moved to Donaghmede in 1981 she continued her committment to Camogie. She became involved in Trinity Gaels in 1981 and still is more involved than ever. Over the years she has been a player, coach, chairperson, secretary, referee and regular fundraiser for her club. During that time she also served as secretary of the Dublin Minor Board for a number of years. She also served on the GAA Executive Committee of her club where she championed Camogie. Over the years he has been instrumental in putting Trinity Gael's excellent facilities at the disposal fo the County Board for intercounty matches, sometimes at short notice! She is a dedicated, hardworking volunteer. She has just been elected Chairperson of Trinity Gaels GAA Club for a second term.
