Dub Seniors Heading for Croker

(20 Dec 2010)

In an exciting development, the Dublin Senior Camogie team will play Kilkenny in the National League on Saturday 26 February 2011.  The game will be the curtain-raiser to the Dublin v Kerry Allianz League football game.

The partnership with the GAA is greatly welcomed by the Dublin Camogie Board and strengthens an already excellent relationship.

Marie O'Brien, Board Chair said "we are thrilled with the prospect of being part of this double-header and it offers a great opportunity to promote the game of camogie before a large audience."

Vice Chair Brendan Cooper adds "the Camogie Association has been working very closely with the GAA Board and this idea is a wonderful outcome of the relationship which is a central part of the future strategy for the gaelic games family.  The game will be the first Senior League game to be played under lights and it is likely that the game will be played before the biggest crowd ever to watch a camogie game.  Denis Murphy and is squad is eagerly looking forward to the game and we would like to thank Ann Downey and the Kilkenny Board for kindly agreeing to switch both the date and venue for this game."

The Dublin Board would like to encourage all members to support the GAA's efforts in promoting this and the other three games in the Croke Park Package.  Further details will be announced in due course.
