Div B Féile Final - Lucan Sarsfields v Kilmacud Crokes

(31 Mar 2019)

3pm at parnells Gaa might have seen a drop in the temperature but certainly no decrease in competitive spirit between Lucan and Crokes in the Division B final.

A Lucan team that played an epic day of camogie in Saturday's qualifiers including two extra matches as they fought their way out of a three way tie, took to the field with gusto once referee Johnny Jackson had thrown in.

Lucan were dominant from the beginning but at half time there was only a point separating the teams.

Kate Kernan of Crokes who on Saturday sealed her teams place in the final with a beautiful point from a 45 in the last seconds of the semi final  once again was hurling with style but the powerhouse performance from  player of the match Caoimhe Costello of lucan proved too much for Crokes to contend with.

As the final whistle sounded  Lucan as one dropped the ash to the grass and lifted skyward with joy.

A brave Crokes team were gracious in defeat with lovely words from both captains to each other and their mentors.

As we said on the pitch these were truly Olympic performances  and for Commercials and Crokes a silver medal position is something to be very proud of.  #spiritoffeile
