Patsy Murphy is a member of St Vincents GAA Club in Dublin. She is married to Ciaran Hetherton, has 5 Children, John, Kevin, Alan, Michelle, Niamh, but has always managed to balance family life and volunteering to gaelic games, often being surrounded by her husband and Children.

Patsy has two loves, her Family and Camogie and has spent most of her life giving to both.

Patsy has served in administration roles both at club, county, provincial and national level. She has always been a firm supporter and volunteer within her own club St Vincents coaching teams at every age level and administrative posts. She has recently returned from coaching at the highest grade levels to coaching the clubs U8’s and she gains as much joy from these or her schools team as she does from any All Ireland contenders.

She served on Dublin Camogie County board in positions amongst those she was player’s representative from 2005-2010. Patsy served at provincial level for 5 years ending her term as Leinster treasurer this year. She has also been actually involved in the GAA particularly hurling and served on the National Feile Hurling Committee for a number of years.

At Camogie national level she was a member of the Puc Fada review and is currently a very active member of the All Stars committee.

Patsy has also been one of the main organizers of the Annual Camogie Legends Competition putting huge work into organizing teams and locations, she has until recently  played in the competition and currently manages the Dublin team.

Patsy was an accomplished player herself; she started playing Camogie with Marino Camogie club continuing playing up to Senior level. Patsy has won numerous League and Championship medals over the years including Senior Championship in 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 with Marino Camogie Club and won an All Ireland Sevens in 1991 with Marino. Marino Camogie Club amalgamated with St Vincents GAA Club in 1997 and in 1998 with St Vincents Patsy won her last Senior Championship and went on to win a Leinster Club medal in 1998.

Patsy has represented Dublin from U.14 right to Senior level and won U.16 Minor title in1982 as well as Junior, Intermediate and Senior Leagues.

Patsy Murphy is one person you are sure to meet at a Camogie match anywhere in the Country, be it doing the gate or as a supporter in a stand, whether her Club or County is participating or not. Her encyclopedia knowledge of both camogie and hurling is an invaluable resource and she always willing to share this knowledge or volunteer where needed. Patsy is simply a doer in the true sense of voluntarism, she see’s a job needing attention and rather than ask whose job it is she sets to the task. Whether it be sweeping a dressing room to sitting in a committee room she see’s each role as equally important to supporting the game.  While fiercely competitive her overriding principle is fairness, inclusiveness and a desire to see all children playing sport at their level.
