Camogie Notes Monday 7 April 2014

  • County Board meeting in Parnell Park on Monday, 14 April - Minor Board at 7pm followed by the County Board meeting at 7.45pm

  • Registrations. All clubs are reminded that all registrations must be completed on the new system by next County Board meeting i.e.14 April

  • “We are Dublin” adult leagues continue on Tuesday, 8 April and Thursday 10 April. Check website and WE are Dublin/Facebook for fixtures and results

  • Best of luck to the Minor A team who travel Leeside to on Sunday next 13 April to take on Cork.This is a must win game for both counties for the last remaining place in this year’s All Ireland semi-finals

  • All Ireland minor B Shield final between Dublin and Antrim will take place on Saturday 26 April. Time and venue to be confirmed.

     

  • Dublin play Kerry in the National League Div. 4 semi-final in Kerry on 20 April. In Div. 3 of the National League Dublin play Roscommon in semi-final in Dublin also on 20 Apri

  • Tough luck on the Dublin Seniors who, despite a fine performance, in the Irish Daily Star National League Div 1 game v Offaly 1-10 to 2-15 in O’Toole Park on Sunday. Dublin also lost to Limerick in the Irish Daily Star National League Div 4.

  • Our Premier Junior team had a narrow one point win over Roscommon in the Irish Daily Star National League Div 3. Dublin were trailing by 5 points when captain Elaine Gallery came on to score 2 vital goals giving Dublin the narrowest of wins.

  • Dublin Camogie Féile takes place on weekend 26/27 April. Group games take place on Saturday with the finals on Sunday. Venue for Sunday’s finals to be confirmed. Féile Skills Competition takes place on Friday 25th – venue to be confirmed. Our thanks to the clubs who volunteered to host divisional games.   • Refereeing matters: Referees are reminded that there must be a match report returned for every camogie match they referee. Returns to Mona O'Sullivan, Rúnaí, 4 Orlagh Court, Knocklyon, Dublin 16. Mentors are reminded that referees must be contacted 48 hours prior to camogie match. If the match is called off for any reason, the referee must still be contacted. Failure to notify referee will result in a fine in accordance with bye laws. Referees are asked to check website for future fixtures. Fixtures are now listed 3 weeks in advance on website

  • A Workshop will be held on Wednesday 16th April at 7.30pm-9pm in Thomas Davis GAA Club, Tallaght, Dublin 24 for all new clubs this year. You are invited to bring along any new mentors involved with underage teams this year. Please advise of your attendance and numbers coming by Friday 11th April. Please also forward any queries to me that you may have in advance of the workshop to ensure we cover all club concerns on the night. The workshop will cover the following: Start-up grants from the Camogie Association Development planning/Club school link. Camogie Initiatives/programmes Practical ‘Games for developing fundamental camogie skills’, Go Games rules/ County board Guidelines for blitzes.
