Camogie Notes Monday, 2nd May.

County Board Meeting: The Minor Board and the County Board meetings take in Parnell Park on Monday, 9th May at the usual times - 7pm for the Minor Board and 7.45 for the County Board.

We are Dublin Adult Leagues 2016: Round 5 of the We are Dublin adult leagues continue this Tuesday 3rd May for Sen 1, 2, 6 & 7 and this Thursday 5th May for Sen 3, 4 & 5. Clubs are reminded to check out the revised rules governing this year’s leagues. All our fixtures/results etc. are available on the Dublin Camogie website. Do check that all players are registered as failure to do so will cause problems.

Upcoming Leinster Championship Fixtures. Best of luck to our Seniors who play Kildare on Wednesday 11 May at DCU Centre of Excellence, Ballymun Road, in a preliminary game in this year’s Leinster championship. The winners go on to meet Offaly in the Leinster Senior semi-final on 15 May. Our Premier Juniors meet Wexford in the Leinster Intermediate championship (prelim game) with the winners going on to play Meath also on the 15 May. 

Leinster Club League.  Well done to Naomh Uinsionn who defeated Skerries Harps in the Leinster League Div 2 on Saturday. Well done to Naas who defeated Ballincor to win Div 4.

Registrations: Clubs are reminded that a player is only registered on the new system when application has been sucessfully completed and when the fee is paid in full. A player can only play 3 days after registration has been sucessfully completed.

Gael Linn: Best of luck to the 7 Dublin players who have ben selected on the Leinster panel for the Gael Linn tournament which takes place on 22nd May. Sile Cotter (Ballyboden St. Endas), Caitriona Power (Naomh Mearnóg), Laura Twomey (Naomh Mearnóg), Ali Twomey (Lucan Sarsfields), Siobhan Keogh (Naomh Fionnbarra), Ali Maguire (Naomh Uinsionn) and Orla Beagan (Lucan Sarsfields)

Congratulations on National League success: Well done also to our next door neighbours  Meath who did brilliantly when defeating Galway 1-10 to 2-03 in the Irish Daily Star National League Div. 2 final also on Sunday – a great achievement! Well done to our Leinster neighbours, Kilkenny, who won the Irish Daily Star National League Div. 1 final when defeating Galway 2-07 to 0-07 in Thurles on Sunday.

See Change & Green Ribbon: During this month of May wear the Green Ribbon and show your support for ending the silence around life’s mental health problems. Green ribbons were very much in evidence at all our Féile events. The See Change vision is that every person in Ireland can be open and positive about mental health, understanding it as a normal part of the ups and downs of life. Wearing of Bibs by all managers/mentors at all competitive games:  Referees have been instructed to note non-compliance in their reports of managers/mentors who fail to wear appropriate bibs at all competitive matches. Sanctions are in place for non compliance with this bye-law.

Concussion:  Concussion is a serious issue. The Camogie Association has adopted GAA Guidelines on Concussion. Tthese guidelines are important for players, coaches and referees and can be viewed on www.dublincamogie.ie under the heading About Us - Downloads.
