Camogie Notes Monday, 29 June 2015

Busy weekend at Intercounty level – a very busy weekend:

Liberty Insurance Senior Championship: The Seniors play Tipperary in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise,  in the second game of the senior championship on Saturday 4 July. This game forms part of double header with the Dublin senior hurlers who play Laois in Round 1 Qualifier. Camogie match starts at 5pm while the hurlers have a match7pm throw in. We ask all supporters, including our Hurling friends, to come along and support the Dublin girls. Should be a great occasion.

Liberty Insurance Premier Junior Championship: Best of luck to the Premier Juniors who open their All Ireland campaign with a difficult assignment v Laois in O’Toole Park also on Saturday 4 July. Time 2.30

The Minors: The Minor A and B panels are working well and will be ready for championship challenges later in July.

Under 16 championship – Best of luck to the Dublin under 16A team who play Limerick on Sunday 5 July at Naomh Peregrine at 2.30pm. Our under 16B are away to Clare on Sunday 12 July.

Under 14 News. The under 14 girls enjoyed their successful visit to the Meath Blitz winning all their 4 games. Best of luck when they travel to Rathleague for the Laois Blitz next weekend.

Paul Beecher Cup: This under 14 intercounty competition takes place in Naomh Mearnóg on Saturday, 11 July.  This is a great competition with 32 teams from 12 counties participating.

Poc Fada News: Congratulations to Beth Whyte (Good Counsel) who won the Dublin under 16 Poc Fada in Beann Eadair on Thursday last and will represent Dublin in the Leinster Poc Fada. The Leinster under 16 and Adult Leinster Poc Fada will take place on Saturday 11 July in Beann Eadair.

Summer Cup competition: Summer Cup competitions continues this week on Tuesday and Thursday 23/25 June.

Adult Championship draws: The draw for the adult Championships will be made at the County Board meeting in July.

Summer Camps: Rising Stars Summer Camp: Dublin Camogie 3 day Summer Camp for 8-12 year olds.  Dates: 22/24 July. Advanced Player Lifestyle and Performance Summer Camp: Camogie coaching for girls aged 13-16 by qualified coaches. Dates: Monday-Wednesday 27-29 July. Next County Board Meeting: The next County Board meeting will take place on Monday 13 July in Parnell Park. Minor Board at 7pm and the County Board at 7.45pm
