(25 Apr 2016)

Camogie Notes Monday  25th April.

Under 16 Leinster finals; Well done to our under 16B team who defeated Kildare 3-11 to 4-06 to become Leinster under 16B champions.  Tough luck on our under 16 A team who were beaten on the day 3-06 to 3-18 by an excellent Kilkenny side. Our appreciation to the players and management for their dedication.

Féile 2016: Féile weekend was a resounding success - a celebration of all that is good about underage Camogie! We thank the players, mentors and their families. We thank the clubs who hosted this year’s Féile events, great organisation and hospitality - Ballyboden St Endas (Div 1), Cuala (Div 2), St Peregrines (Div 3), Thomas Davis, and (Div 4) Na Fianna (Div 5)

The finals in O’Toole on the Sunday were very well attended and there was a great spirit of sportsmanship as well as competiveness in evidence. Congratulations to the Divisional winners Div. 1 Lucan Sarsfields, Div 2 Castleknock, Div 3 Ballinteer St. Johns and Div 4 Lucan Sarsfields B. Best of luck in National and Regional Féile.

The Féile Skills competition: This competition took place in Silver Park on the Friday evening. Our thanks to Kilmacud Crokes for hosting this popular event again this year and for feeding the multitudes! Congratulations to Eirin Kennedy (Good Counsel) who won this competition with a great score of 184 points. Best wishes at National Féile. Aoife McLoughley (Naomh Mearnog) and Ciara Kavanagh (Na Fianna) were close behind in second and third places.

See Change & Green Ribbon: Green ribbons were very much in evidence at all our Féile events over the weekend. The See Change vision is that every person in Ireland can be open and positive about mental health, understanding it as a normal part of the ups and downs of life. This May wear the Green Ribbon and show your support for ending the silence around life’s mental health problems. For more information please go to www.greenribbon.ie
