Camogie Notes Monday 14 April 2014

Meetings: County Board meeting in Parnell Park this evening, Monday, 14 April - Minor Board at 7pm followed by the County Board meeting at 7.45pm. Executive meeting at 6pm in Parnell Park.

Registrations. Clubs are reminded that all registrations should be completed by now on the new system.

Walkovers and Postponements: for the attention of all club secretaries and mentors: Matches cannot be postponed without the permission of the County Board. Permission to seek a postponement must be submitted by the secretary of the club 2 weeks before the date of the fixture. Details of walkovers must be sent to the County secretary as soon as possible.

Minor A team so unlucky: Well done to our Minor A team that travelled Leeside on Saturday drawing with Cork 2-12 to 2-12 in the final deciding play-off game of the group while missing influential captain, Doireann Mullany because of a cruciate injury. Unfortunately for the Dublin girls Cork go through to the All Ireland semi-finals with Galway, Limerick and Tipperary under the score difference rules of the competition

Upcoming Intercounty Games: Our Premier Junior team meet Roscommon again in the Irish Daily Star National League Div 3 semi-final at a neutral venue on Saturday 19 April. Dublin v Kerry in the Irish Daily Star National League Div 4 final at the Ragg, Tipperary at 1.15pm on Sunday 20 April. All Ireland Minor B Div 4 Shield final between Dublin and Antrim will take place on Saturday 26 April. Neutral venue and time to be confirmed. Our under 16A team plays Offaly in this year's under 16A Leinster final on Saturday, 26 April in O'Brien Park, Tullamore at 1.00pm. Dublin U16B are in the Minor B Leinster final v Meath on Saturday the 26th April, Venue and time TBC.

"We are Dublin" Adult leagues: Round 3 of the Leagues continues on Tuesday, 15 April and Thursday 17 April. Check website and We are Dublin/Facebook for fixtures and results.

Dublin Camogie Féile takes place on weekend 26/27 April. Group games take place on Saturday with the finals on Sunday. Venue for Sunday’s finals to be confirmed. Féile Skills Competition takes place on Friday 25th – venue to be confirmed. Our thanks to the clubs who volunteered to host divisional games. Refereeing matters: Referees are reminded that there must be a match report returned for every camogie match they referee. Returns to Mona O'Sullivan, Rúnaí, 4 Orlagh Court, Knocklyon, Dublin 16. Mentors are reminded that referees must be contacted 48 hours prior to camogie match. If the match is called off for any reason, the referee must still be contacted. Failure to notify referee will result in a fine in accordance with bye laws. Referees are asked to check website for future fixtures. Fixtures are now listed 3 weeks in advance on website.

A Workshop for new clubs: A workshopwill be held on Wednesday 16th April at 7.30pm-9pm in Thomas Davis GAA Club, Tallaght, Dublin 24 for all new clubs this year. You are invited to bring along any new mentors involved with underage teams this year. Please advise of your attendance and numbers coming by Friday 11th April. Please also forward any queries to me that you may have in advance of the workshop to ensure we cover all club concerns on the night. The workshop will cover the following: Start-up grants from the Camogie Association Development planning/Club school link. Camogie Initiatives/programmes Practical ‘Games for developing fundamental camogie skills’, Go Games rules/ County board Guidelines for blitzes. Mansion House Reception: Dublin Camogie hosted a Reception with the Lord Mayor of Dublin at the Mansion House for the 3 Dublin schools which reached this year's All Ireland Post Primary Schools finals in their respective competitions; St. Joseph's College, Lucan; Maryfield College, Drumcondra and Dominican College Griffith Avenue. Speakers on the evening were Mark Leamy, Chair Dublin Post Primary Schools Committee, Patrick Martin,Chair Dublin Camogie County Board, Joan O'Flynn, Ard Stiurthoir Camogie Association and Councillor Henry Upton, Dublin's Deputy Lord Mayor.
