Camogie Notes Monday, 13 April 2015

  • County Board Meeting: County Board meeting tonight Monday13th April in Parnell Park. Minor Board at 7pm and County Board meeting at 7.45pm. Executive Meeting on Monday, 20th. Venue TBC.
  • Féile Skills 2015: Our thanks to Kilmacud Crokes who hosted the Féile Skills competition on Easter Monday, 6 April at 1.00 in Silver Park. Well done to the 70 girls who took part. Congratulations to Hannah Clarke from Round Towers who took the honours after a great contest.
  • Féile 2015 Group stages: Our sincere thanks to the 4 hosting clubs on Saturday: Ballyboden St. Endas were hosts for Divisions 1 and 5 of Féile, Skerries Harps were hosts for Div 2 (opening of their new club house), St. Maurs were hosts for Div 3 and Naomh Olaf were hosts for Div 4. for the effort, care  and trouble they took in ensuring a warm welcome to visiting teams, for their efficient organisation of the competition and of course for feeding the multitudes throughout the day.
  • Five Féile finals: Despite the poor weather, a huge crowd of over 1500 attended the five Féile na nGael finals in O'Toole Park. All were tremendous games with the biggest winning margin just 5 points.  All the runners up will feel that if only a break went their way the game could have been theirs. Division 1 Ballyboden St Endas 3-2  Lucan Sarsfields 2-3; Division 2 Naomh Uinsionn 2-1  Ballinteer St Johns 1-0; Division 3 Naomh Peregrine 1-1  Erins Isle 0-1Division ;Division 4  Naomh Bríd 2-1  Lucan Sarsfields 0-3; Division 5  Ballinteer St Johns 1-0  Ballyboden St Endas 0-0
  • Well done: Well done to the winners but more importantly well done the 735 plus girls who participated in Féile over the weekend. Well done to Barbara Grennell and the Féile Committee for their overall organisation of this year’s Féile and to the members of the Executive who officiated at Féile events over the busy weekend.
  • Intercounty: National League Div 3: Best of luck Dublin Premier Juniors in the semi-final on Sunday 19 April when they will take on Limerick. (The Dublin girls defeated Limerick in the group stages) Time and Neutral venue TBC.
  • Intercounty - under 16 Leinster Championship: The Dublin U16B side advanced to the Leinster final following a fine 3-7 to 0-5 victory over Kildare in St Davids CBS Artane. The team will play Westmeath in the final following the midlanders one point win over Kilkenny. The under 16A team face Kilkenny in the A Leinster final. Both games on Sunday. Times and venue TBC
  • We are Dublin Adult Leagues: Adult Leagues continue this week. Divisions 1, 2, 6 and 7 continue on Tuesday, 9 April while Divisions 3, 4 and 5 will continue on Thursday 11 April. Throw is 6.45pm for all games. Check www.dublin camogie.ie/fixtures/results for all Juvenile and adult league fixtures and results.
  • Minor Club League: Due to the adverse weather conditions on Saturday morning the Minor A League final was postponed.
  • Camogie Association - Key dates for updated Rules: The updated Rules will be released on 28th April and will come into effect from that date. On May 1st an updated edition of the Official Guide Part IV will be released. This is the Association’s Disciplinary Code and THDC Procedures
  • The Camogie Association’s €100,000 once off support for Camogie clubs: The Camogie Association have announced a once-off national fund of €100,000 to support Camogie clubs to purchase gear/equipment. To be eligible for funding, each club is required to complete an online survey.
