All Ireland Champions Cork, too strong for Dublin
Report by Meggan O'Reilly.
Champions Cork show Their Character to secure a deserving Win in the 2nd round of the liberty insurance All Ireland Championship at Pairc Ui Rinn 24.06.18.

The Scorching sun shone down on Pairc Ui Rinn , Dublin were ready for a hot Battle against the firery Girls in Red and By God was it a beautiful day for a game of a Camogie. The ever inspiring Courtney Manning was out on water Duty and Experienced Eve O Brien was pacing the sideline with encouragement for her fellow teammates.

Dublin Slowly edged themselves back into the game with a goal from Orla Beegan and finely struck points from Emma Flanagan, Siobhán Kehoe, and Eimear McCarthy.
After 20 minutes Ali Twomey was Introduced for Alex Griffin and made her mark immediately.

Roisin Baker was glued to experienced defender Gemma O Connor and took her completely out of the game much to Dublin’s Delight.
Unfortunately the team as a whole lost concentration for a split second, and as champions do, Cork pounced again adding a Goal to to their tally on the brink of half time.
Both teams would enter the changing rooms with the questions on everyone’s minds “ Would Dublin Outdo the Champions in the second half?”

The 2nd half commenced with All Ireland champions Cork showing the skill and ingredients that make up a winning team.

Herity called Mairi Moynihan to the game where she made her presence known with a fierce Shoulder to Aisling Thompson. Almost every aspect of the game was not in favour of the girls in blue and they found themselves chasing not only the game and score line but also the speedy cork forwards.

In the 44th minute Leah butler was introduced for Emma Flanagan. Leah’s energetic running would most definitely put Corks Defence to test.
Ali Maguire seen game time with the hopes that her calm and composed style would settle her teammates , however time was not on Dublin’s side.

With Cork players like Orla Cronin scoring 1-5 and a Katrina Mackey adding another 1-3 to the score line it made Dublin’s effort to come back into the game unlikely.

There was a moment of magic when the young Orla Beegan scored a magnificent goal from a free which skimmed along the surface , unstoppable for Keeper , Aoife Murray.

Cork most certainly set the bench mark for not only Dublin, but for every other county in the Country.
Dublin will learn and as always continue to Grow stronger when they face Meath in 2 weeks time.
