Seniors pipped; Premier Junior go down to Carlow while U16s fall to Laois

(06 May 2017)

Dublin came within a whisker of defeating All-Ireland and League Champions Kilkenny at O'Toole Park in the Leinster Championship. The home side missed a last minute free in normal time that might have secured victory but in extra time the more experienced and battle-hardened Cats came home in pole position on a 0-15 to 1-9 scoreline.

The Premier Junior team went down to All-Ireland intermediate champs Carlow by 1-12 to 0-9.

The scoreline of Laois 3-9 Dublin 0-5 fails to tell the full story of a thrilling U16B Leinster Championship final. Dublin were just four points down going into the final five minutes but Laois finished with 2-3 without reply to score a deserved victory in Thomastown.
